I love that the campus is small and that we’re surrounded by lakes and trees. There are so many beautiful hikes around campus that really help calm the mind during a stressful week at school. My time at Laurentian has been fantastic. Everyone is so nice and it’s been such a lovely experience. I really believe that I made the right decision coming here. Each professor makes the effort to get to know you and make a personal connection. It makes it so easy to ask for help and you just feel more confident in class, which ultimately translates to feeling confident during exams. The professors really want you to succeed and it’s a great atmosphere. Being in the School of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, I was able to get a job with a local psychologist and professor at the university. That connection then led to an amazing opportunity to work with a varsity team on a more sport psychology-related path. I would recommend Laurentian to anyone who enjoys being outside. There are so many things to do outside and it’s just such a beautiful campus that it really blows you away that you get to study in this environment. I would recommend the Sport Psychology program to people who want to work with athletes in the future or who simply want to go into psychology. This program is a great introduction to psychology with the perfect focus on sport.
