How To Apply: Canadian Undergraduate Applicants

A step-by-step guide on how to apply to Laurentian University for future Canadian undergraduate students.

1. Choose a program and check your admission requirements

The first big step of the application process and your post-secondary future is finding the perfect program for you!

Once you’ve found a program you’re interested in, check the Admission Requirements section on the program page to make sure you’re eligible to apply and will meet all of the program prerequisites.

Note: In addition to the program prerequisites, the Architectural Studies program and the Indigenous Social Work program require additional documents as part of your application. For more information, visit the Admission Requirements section of the program page.

2. Apply online through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC)

Once you’ve decided on one or more programs, create an account on the Ontario Universities Application Center (OUAC) website and then complete the undergraduate program application form.

Deadlines

Deadlines for all programs (except for programs with specific deadlines):

Program-specific deadlines:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (September entry only) - February 1st
  • Bachelor of Architectural Studies (September entry only) - February 14th

Not sure how to complete the application? Follow the instructions in the OUAC’s Undergraduate Application Guide.

3. Log in to the myLaurentian Portal

You did it! You’ve applied to Laurentian! Within 2 days of completing your application, you should receive an email from the Office of Admissions with your student number and a link to the myLaurentian Portal, where you’ll manage your application.

Log in to the portal, and in the Documents folder, review your acknowledgement letter. The letter provides further instructions on completing your application.

Continue to check the portal regularly to:

  • View new messages and documents sent by us
  • Track the progress of your application
  • Submit any required documents (if you’re not a current high school student)

Didn’t receive an email? Check your spam folder or send us an email at info@laurentian.ca.

4. Accept your offer of admission

Once your application is reviewed, a decision letter will be posted in the myLaurentian Portal in the Documents folder, which will tell you whether you received an offer of admission.

If you applied via the OUAC, admission decisions will also appear in your OUAC Account. Read the offer carefully, as you might receive an early conditional offer or an alternate offer.

To accept your offer, log into your OUAC account, and follow the instructions to accept

The OUAC will send your response to our Office of Admissions.

5. Meet your offer conditions

After you accept your offer, there could still be requirements you need to fulfill to start at Laurentian. Read your offer letter carefully and be sure to meet all of the conditions indicated on page two or your offer will be rescinded.

For more information about admission conditions, see the Types of Offers and Meeting Your Offer Conditions page.
