Ontario High School Admissions
Ontario High School students will be required to use the Group A application. There used to be a PIN system required for student application, but this has been removed in September 2023.
Students will navigate to the Group A Login Portal link and use their PIN to create a new account. Once completed, they can follow the Group A Application Guide to complete their application.
Information about Deadlines, Fees, FAQs, and the Group A Guide are available on the OUAC website.
Out of province High School Admissions
Out of province students will be required to use the Group B Application. Applicants require the successful completion of a secondary school diploma with the equivalent course requirements as Ontario applicants, with a minimum 70% average.
Group B students will need to create a new account to start their application. The Group B New Account Portal will take you to the page where you can do so.
Information about Deadlines, Fees, FAQs, and the Group B are available on the OUAC website.
Scholarships and Bursaries
Academic Excellence Scholarships
For admissions and award purposes, Laurentian University calculates admission averages based on the top six final marks from an Ontario student's 4U/M courses, regardless of prerequisites for the intended program of study.
High-School Average | New GPA | Academic Excellence Scholarships |
---|---|---|
80% - 84.9% | 7.50 to 8.49 | up to $4,000 ($1,000 in 1st year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained) |
85% - 89.9% | 8.50 to 9.49 | up to $6,000 ($1,500 in 1st year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained) |
90% - 94.9% | 9.50 to 9.89 | up to $12,000 ($3,000 in 1st year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained) |
95% - 100% | 9.90 to 10.00 | up to $16,000 ($4,000 in 1st year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained) |
Eligibility for renewal will be based on full-time status in the previous academic year (30 credits, of which 24 credits must have been taken in the Fall/Winter term, the remaining 6 must be taken in the spring term).
NOTE: Scholarships are paid on a May to April cycle. Amounts will be prorated based on the number of credits per semester.
Academic Access Award
Canadian high school applicants to Laurentian with an average of 75 to 79% are eligible for an Academic Access Award of $750!
If your top 6 final marks from Grade 12 or level 4 U/M courses fall between 75 and 79% (regardless of prerequisites for the intended program of study) and you are registering for a full-time course load (30 credits), you are automatically eligible!
This means that if you meet those criteria, $750 will be applied to your tuition account automatically!*
