The Free Store

Everything is free at the Free Store! 

How it works

You are welcome to take any items you want. Available items include children and adult clothes and shoes, books, toys, home essentials, office and school supplies.

The Free Store is currently open to LU students, faculty and staff on Wednesdays to Fridays between 10am-3pm. 

Location

The Free Store is located in room P-028 (Parker Building). 

Hours

The Free Store is open every Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 3pm. 

How to donate

Donations can be dropped off at the Free Store during opening hours, placed in the donation bins located outside of the Free Store or in the Mature Student Residence (MSR) building.  

If you would like to donate significant quantities of items, please email freestore@laurentian.ca to coordinate a drop-off date and time. 

Items we accept
  • Children and adult clothes (except undergarments, socks, swimwear)
  • Shoes (in pairs)
  • Handbags, backpacks, and other bags
  • Books
  • Toys, games, arts and craft supplies
  • Kitchenware and household items
  • Small appliances 

Items we do not accept
  • Undergarments, socks, swimwear
  • Bedding
  • Large appliances
  • Hazardous materials
  • Broken, soiled or dirty items
  • Anything not in good reusable condition 

Community referral program

We work with many community organizations in Sudbury and provide gently used clothes and items to individuals and families in need. If you are interested in learning more about our community referral program or want to partner with us, please send an email to freestore@laurentian.ca.
