General Questions
How Does It Work?
Learn About Exchange Programs:
Studying abroad allows you to complete a portion of your degree at one of Laurentian University's international partner institutions. Outbound students typically participate for one semester (Fall, Winter, or Spring), a full academic year (Fall and Winter), or through a short-term opportunity such as a summer program. Students participating in an exchange during the Fall or Winter semesters are not required to pay tuition at the host institution; instead, they continue to pay standard tuition fees to Laurentian University.
While most Laurentian students pursue study abroad opportunities during the third year of their undergraduate program, the ideal timing may vary based on individual academic requirements. All students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor and the International Office to identify the most appropriate time for their study abroad experience.
It is possible to participate in an exchange at an institution outside of Laurentian University's official exchange network. Provided the institution is recognized by Laurentian and you are granted admission, you may enroll as a Visiting Student through a Letter of Permission. Please note that in this case, you will be responsible for paying tuition fees to both Laurentian University and the host institution as an independent or visiting student.
