Social Work
School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions
If you are interested in working with people, and have a desire to work for positive change, social work may be a career for you.

Social work is a diverse, challenging, fulfilling, and meaningful profession. Social workers practice within a variety of contexts and locales including child welfare, mental health, addictions, schools, hospitals, culturally-specific services, and private practice, in social justice, community development, and social planning, as researchers, educators, and policy makers, and many more. Social workers are trained to work holistically in small systems such as families to larger ones such as government, aiming to create change for individuals, families, groups, communities, and society. You can do a lot with a degree in social work.
We have many programs to offer at the undergraduate and graduate levels:
- Our BSW program is offered on-campus in Sudbury.
- Our BSS program is offered on-campus in Sudbury, and on-line as a distance education program.
- Our MSW and MSS programs are offered on-campus in Sudbury.
- Graduate education in social work is an opportunity to specialize and gain education and practice experience in advanced social work practice.
- Our class sizes are small and there are many opportunities to work closely with peers and professors, and gain training in a variety of projects.
