School of Education

Welcome to the School of Education

We offer strong, OCT-accredited teacher education programs at Laurentian University in both of Canada’s official languages. Our concurrent programs In English and French allow undergraduate students to obtain a combined BEd & BA degree in five (5) years, while our French consecutive and hybrid programs provide a two-year, post-degree option enabling aspiring students to teach in Francophone or French Immersion schools.

Our programs currently provide training in the Junior/Interrmediate division, enabling graduates to teach at the Grade 4-10 level. Students complete multiple practicum experiences in Greater Sudbury, as well as in K-12 schools throughout Ontario.

Program Offerings

The Faculty of Education offers both French and English Bachelor of Education programs that prepare students to become certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. The Faculty is also an education provider to teachers from across the province who wish to upgrade their professional qualifications.
