Women's Centre Services

Gathering Space
The LUWC offers a gathering space for all students. In this space, students are welcome to study, enjoy tea or coffee, microwave their lunches, host discussion groups, care for their children, or simply relax and connect with others.
Peer Support
Women Centre volunteers are trained in women’s issues and offer informed confidential support. When needed, the Centre can connect students with a variety of on-campus and off-campus resources, including but not limited to counseling services, academic assistance, and community organizations.
Library
The LUWC offers a library focused on feminist literature and a variety of other subjects, including books for youth. Our collection includes diverse perspectives and topics, ensuring that students have access to relevant and empowering materials.
Events
The Women’s Centre actively participates in and hosts a diverse array of events aimed at promoting a strong sense of community at Laurentian. These include orientation weeks, awareness days and International Women’s Day among others. These events foster engagement, celebrate diversity, and empower students, staff and faculty to build meaningful connections and contribute positively to campus life.
Advocacy
The Women’s Centre advocates for students on various issues, promoting gender equity and empowerment within the campus community. We engage with the University leadership, organize awareness campaigns, and collaborate with community organizations to create a supportive environment for student success.
