Pathway Options
In order to support the success of international students, who require additional English language training prior to starting in Laurentian’s undergraduate and graduate programs, Laurentian University has an English Academic Preparation (EAP) Pathway program as well as a partnership with the International Language Academy Of Canada ( ILAC).
Students can meet language requirements by pursuing one of the following:
-
Completing the Laurentian EAP pathway program level 3 (CEFR C1) with a minimum score of 70% for direct entry into Laurentian University programs.
OR
-
Completing the International Language Academy Of Canada ( ILAC) EAP Level 16 or Certificate PW 3.3 for direct entry into Laurentian University programs.

International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC)
ILAC’s University Pathway Program leads to Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degree programs and acceptance to most of ILAC’s 85+ Pathway partner colleges and universities without an IELTS or TOEFL score. ILAC provides free academic counselling and university placement services.
Students will study ILAC's EAP program fully online from the comfort of their own homes.
Students who successfully complete ILAC EAP Level 16 or Certificate PW 3.3 or higher, will be considered as having met the English Language requirement for admission into Laurentian’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
Students will either be tested for language proficiency (using ILAC free academic counselling and university placement services.) or will be placed according to the Language Proficiency Chart below if they have previously completed an acceptable proficiency test within one year of admission. The program duration and which level you will be studying can be found in the table below.
