How to Apply: Undergraduate Studies

A step-by-step guide on how to apply to Laurentian University for Undergraduate Students

Applying to universities can be confusing and overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created this step-by-step How To Apply guide to help you get all of the information you need and provide a seamless transition to becoming a Laurentian student.

Note: This page contains information for domestic undergraduate applicants. To find out how to apply as an international student, see How to apply: International students and International undergraduate admissions.

2. Apply online at OUAC

Once you’ve decided on one or more programs, you can apply for them online through the Ontario Universities Application Center (OUAC). The OUAC processes applications to all universities in Ontario.

Deadlines

Below are the deadlines to submit your application for Fall 2024:

  • Ontario High School Students – January 15th, 2024
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Fall entry only) – February 1, 2024
  • Bachelor of Architectural Studies (Fall entry only) – February 14, 2024
  • Non-Ontario High School Application – Aug 1, 2024 (except for Nursing and Architecture) *

Fees

Applications include a base fee, a fee for each additional program you apply for and a fee for transcripts requested via the OUAC. Check the OUAC’s Undergraduate Application Fees page in advance to avoid any surprises and learn about payment options.

Early conditional offers

If you have a high average in Grade 11, you might receive an early conditional offer of admission in the Fall. The final decision will depend on:

  • Your best six Grade 12 U or M courses
  • The successful completion of the required courses
  • The obtention of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

 

Alternate offers

If you don’t meet all of the requirements for your selected program(s), you might receive an alternate offer of admission to programs you qualify for.

Deferrals

If you’re unable to enroll to Laurentian for the term specified in your offer, you can defer your admission. For information on deferrals, see the Defer Your Offer of Admission page.

7. Meet Your Offer Conditions

After you accept your offer, there could still be requirements you need to fulfill to start at Laurentian. Read your offer letter carefully and be sure to meet all of the conditions indicated on page two or your offer will be rescinded.
