Survivor Circles

The Student Equity Centre offers Survivors Circles weekly, on Mondays from 1pm-3pm in A-126. Survivor Circles is a safe, empowering gathering specifically for survivors of sexual violence. This space is designed for women to come together, share their stories, find strength in community, and support one another on their healing journeys. Whether you choose to speak, listen, or simply be uplifted by the stories of others, this circle is here to help energize and empower. Participants can also engage in crafting activities as a creative way to reflect, connect, and heal. All survivors are welcome to experience a nurturing environment of shared wisdom, resilience, and hope.

Promotion

The University is proactive in promoting education and training related to the prevention of any form of violence on campus. Professionals trained in counselling, security and human rights are equipped to respond quickly and to pursue all necessary investigative avenues. To view upcoming training, please read through the EDHRO Newsletters or email sec@laurentian.ca.

SafeRide

SafeRide is a free service offered to all students, faculty, and staff at Laurentian University. This service safely escorts students and employees anywhere on campus.

Work Alone Program

Work Alone Program is for those faculty, staff or students who find themselves working alone after regular business hours, in isolated areas of the University. To utilize this program, simply contact the Security Control Center and provide the operator with your name, where you are located and your length of anticipated stay. Security will stop by your lab/classroom/office during routine patrols.

You can also choose to use the SecurLU-UL App and access the WorkAlone Program. The app allows you to "check in" periodically while working alone or during late hours. If you don't respond, the app will alert Campus Security.
