Environmental Control Technology

This course will cover unit processes of particulate and gaseous pollutant removal from waste gases, methods of controlling sulphur dioxide emissions, liquid waste treatment, construction and management of tailings dams, causes and abatement of acid mine drainage, and the treatment of toxic and hazardous wastes. Some case studies will be presented to demonstrate the implementation of environmental control technology in industrial practice. (lec 3) cr 3
