Responsibilities
Vacancy Status: Existing position
Reporting to the CNFS-UL manager, the Senior Project Officer develops, implements and evaluates various CNFSUL activities. The person plays a key role in the strategic planning, coordination and execution of CNFS-UL initiatives, ensures the coordination and monitoring of several projects related to recruitment, training, research and institutional capacity development, and works closely with various stakeholders to optimize project delivery and ensure that CNFS-UL objectives are achieved.
Coordination, monitoring and optimization of projects
- Coordinate ongoing projects and ensure their progress according to deadlines and available resources.
- Collaborate with the departments and partners involved to ensure the alignment of initiatives with the objectives of the CNFS-UL.
- Develop and implement monitoring and assessment tools to improve project effectiveness and facilitate decision making.
- Propose and pilot new initiatives and innovative approaches to optimize processes and maximize the impact of CNFS-UL projects.
- Document the steps of each project and ensure management of relevant files and data.
- Write progress reports and suggest strategic adjustments if necessary.
Implementation and monitoring of projects
- Manage event and workshop logistics, including coordinating registration, travel and materials.
- Ensure the dissemination of information on projects to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update digital platforms (website, social media, newsletters) to ensure effective communication.
- Recommend and implement technological improvements (software, process automation) to optimize the management of CNFS-UL initiatives.
Public relations and community engagement
- Maintain and develop relationships with educational institutions, health organizations and other community partners.
- Participate in events and represent the CNFS-UL at local and national activities.
- Support partner engagement through regular communications and collaboration on joint projects.
- Availability for occasional travel and flexible hours depending on project needs.
Supervision and guidance
- Provide operational support and guidance to project officers and interns.
- Provide training to new employees on project management processes and tools.
- Foster a climate of collaboration and exchange of ideas within the project team.
Monitoring, analysis and continuous improvement of practices
- Ensure monitoring of best practices in project management, recruitment and training in the health sector.
- Identify and recommend new tools or methodologies to improve project management and monitoring.
- Participate in training and professional events to strengthen skills and contribute to the development of the CNFS-UL.
- Contribute to the critical analysis and evaluation of projects to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Health (i.e., health sciences, nursing, public health)/ project management/ social sciences (i.e., sociology, social work, public administration)/ administration or management.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is considered.
- Experience in evaluating grant applications and research proposals.
- Experience with digital platforms and social media (management and content).
- Excellent project management skills: planning, coordinating and monitoring initiatives.
- Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assess the impact of projects.
- Knowledge of financial management principles applied to projects (budget monitoring, verification of invoices and expenses).
- Strong skills for networking and developing partnerships with institutional and community stakeholders.
- Tact and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Strong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with digital and office tools, including Google Workspace (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms, calendar).
- Critical analysis skills to identify challenges and propose suitable solutions.
- Problem-solving skills and quick decision-making in a project management context.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (asset).
- Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
