Full-Time Term Appointment until June 27, 2026 THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS ONE THAY MAY REQUIRE A DIFFERENT WORK WEEK AND/OR HOURS OF WORK. THIS POSITION IS ALSO DESIGNATED AS ONE THAT REQUIRES REGULAR TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Domestic Recruitment, working within the strategic plan for outreach and as part of the Domestic Recruitment team, this position exists to recruit undergraduate students from high schools and colleges as designated.  The successful candidate will:

  • Represent Laurentian University positively;
  • Prepare tailored presentations for specific events;
  • Attend and present at events, fairs and individual visits;
  • Schedule visits for various recruitment campaigns throughout the year, prepare presentations, learn necessary information, attend and present at events, fairs and individual visits, and speak with prospective students and staff at educational institutions;
  • Update reports and databases;
  • Travel extensively;
  • Provide feedback on materials and presentation approaches used;
  • Ensure that information materials are up-to-date and accurate;
  • Ensure that information requests from potential applicants are processed expeditiously and that a positive image is built for Laurentian University;and
  • Perform other duties directly related to this position as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably from Laurentian University;
  • One(1) to two(2) years of related experience;
  • Public speaking and presentation training or presentation experience;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
  • Valid level G driver's license and good-driving record;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Familiarity with Laurentian University preferred; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is an asset.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
