Laurentian University Appoints Industry Liaison Officer to Strengthen Mining and Critical Minerals Partnerships

Laurentian University has recently appointed Dylan Rietze as its first dedicated Industry Liaison Officer (ILO). Funded through Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON), the role is focused on connecting mining and critical minerals companies with Laurentian's research expertise, funding opportunities, and commercialization supports. Rietze brings a background in life sciences, innovation ecosystems and Indigenous community engagement to a position that will strengthen collaboration between the University and the mining sector.

Researchers at Laurentian University are being celebrated for their remarkable success amidst recent grants announced by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Faculty members were awarded $1,447,000 in Discovery Grants, $132,000 in Discovery Development Grants, and $50,000 in Discovery Launch Supplements.
