MineOpportunity Games

MineOpportunity offers a blend of education and entertainment that provides students from grades 9-12 a look at the diverse range of careers available in the mineral resources industry. During the game, students (French and English) have the opportunity to engage with company partners through challenges and activities focused on mining technology, engineering, geosciences, environmental sustainability, business, health and safety, corporate social responsibility, and more.

MineOpportunity has been played by Northern Ontario students for over two decades. It was originally developed in 2005 at Laurentian University to educate first-year geology students about careers in mining. Since then, it has been re-imagined for high schoolers and is played regularly across the region. The game has reached over 4000 English and French students, elevating youth awareness of new technologies, career paths, and local companies in their own backyard.
