Jeremie-Seror

Jérémie Séror

Jérémie Séror is a Full Professor at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa, where he specializes in language teaching and the dynamics of language socialization in plurilingual contexts. His research focuses on immersion programs, the development of bi- and pluriliteracy, and writing practices in digital environments.

Since 2024, he has held the OLBI Research Chair in Technology- and Artificial Intelligence-Mediated Language Learning. His work seeks to better equip educators and students to meaningfully integrate advanced digital technologies into their everyday practices, in order to support the development of language competencies in ways that are thoughtful, effective, and ethically responsible.

Ron Darvin

Ron Darvin

Ron Darvin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education of The University of British Columbia. His research on generative AI, identity, and critical digital literacies has been published in journals such as Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, Journal of Second Language Writing, and System. He has conducted multiple professional development workshops for school districts in British Columbia on the implications of generative AI for learning, and his current funded research is on the inequalities of generative AI and the emerging digital literacies of multilingual youth in Canada.
