Anas Karzai is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the School of Social Sciences, Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Karzai holds an MA and a PhD from York University. He taught at York University and the University of Guelph before joining Laurentian University in 2006. In 2017, he developed the Criminology program and was its coordinator until 2021. He is a member of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and teaches courses in social and political theory, criminological theory, and covers issues such as colonialism and imperialism, war and refugees, the rise of new authoritarianism, the role of international law and human rights in the 21st century.
