Fall Orientation 2026
Join the Faculty of Graduate Studies for our official virtual orientation event for incoming Master's and PhD students.
You will meet the Graduate Studies team and learn crucial information about:
- Scholarships, bursaries, and funding opportunities
- Navigating student-supervisor relationships
- Registration, tuition, and key deadlines

Workshops 2026-2027
Our graduate workshop series is designed to equip you with the essential tools, skills, and insights needed to thrive in your research journey and future career. Over the previous academic year, we hosted a diverse lineup of bilingual sessions led by faculty experts and campus partners.
Our past programming focused on core pillars of graduate success, including:
- Funding & Career Prep: Getting direct application tips from NSERC/CRSNG and learning how to build strong academic CVs and cover letters.
- Research & Writing: Mastering tools like Zotero, tackling academic publishing, and learning how to properly weave citations into your writing.
- Presenting & Public Speaking: Gaining confidence for public speaking, learning how to present your research with intent.
- Hot Topics in Academia: Exploring everything from knowledge dissemination to navigating the world of Generative AI.

We are currently finalizing an exciting new calendar of workshops tailored specifically to the evolving needs of our graduate community.

Research Week
Research Week is Laurentian University’s annual celebration of innovation and discovery! Typically taking place in March, this dedicated week highlights the incredible academic work and groundbreaking research being done across our campus.
For graduate students, it is the ultimate platform to showcase your findings, connect with fellow researchers, and sharpen your presentation skills through key events like the Graduate Student Research Symposium and the highly anticipated 3MT Competition.
