Introduction to Virtual Counselling

This course critically examines virtual counselling practice through power, ethics, and use of technology. Students will engage in critical self-reflections, case studies, and simulations that are centered on practice techniques that address digital surveillance, ethical dilemmas and barriers to accessibility. Guided by social work practice theories, students will develop critically reflexive, ethical, and anti-oppressive virtual counselling skills. Prerequisite: 18 university credits. (lec 3) 3 cr.
