Social Problems

The course is concerned with a theoretical and empirical examination of major contemporary social problems and their international an national inter-connections. Such problems as poverty, effects of industrialization, living an dworking conditions, population growth, alienation, urbanization, will be discussed. Various views/programmes generated to deal with such problems will also be analyzed and evaluated. Prerequisite: SOCI 1015 or permission of the instructor. Antirequisite: Students may not retain credit for both SOCI 2505 and SOCI 2506. (lec 3) 3 cr.
