Natural Hazards and Disasters

This course focuses on several major topics: the geoscience of natural hazards, hazard prediction and human vulnerability, preparedness, mitigation and recovery from natural hazards and aims to build a foundation for critically evaluating how humans live with hazard risk, from a technical and societal point of view. This course is intended for those who wish to better understand natural hazards and to assess how the consequences of natural hazards are minimized. Prerequisites: 18 university credits. Lec.
