This course explores the multifaceted impacts of climate change, current state of adaptation, and existing tools necessary for effective adaptation. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will analyze international, national, and local assessments, risk frameworks, and real-world case studies to critically evaluate key risks across various sectors, including ecosystems, infrastructure, and communities. The course includes interactive discussions, case study analysis, and guest lectures, providing students with practical skills to undertake a risk assessment. The course highlights Indigenous Knowledge and leadership in climate adaptation and the importance of climate justice to build a resilient future. Prerequisite: Completion of third year at Cambrian College. (lec 3) 3 cr.
