An Update on the Ben Avery Complex
October 19, 2020
Laurentian University remains attentive to calls by the community to reopen the Ben Avery Complex and the Jeno Tihanyi Pool as rapidly as possible.
However, as the University progresses into its fall semester, Laurentian has contended with less than 1% of our classes on campus. Coupled with the emergence of COVID-19’s second wave and the recent cancellation of competitive varsity sport in Winter 2021, Laurentian has decided to maintain the current state of closure of the Ben Avery Complex and the Jeno Tihanyi Pool until the end of 2020. The facility remains closed for the general public, community groups, and other staff, faculty and students.
Laurentian University athletes, coaches, authorized staff and faculty, will continue to have access to parts of the facility, with the exception of the Jeno Tihanyi Pool.
Laurentian continues to work on plans for a safe and sustainable reopening, and will have a further update to the community by early January 2021.
