(December 5, 2025) – Laurentian University has secured significant new international agreements that will create structured pathways for student mobility and expand research collaboration, marking a major step forward in its strategic internationalization goals. The focus of these partnerships is to directly enhance academic opportunities for the university community and strengthen Laurentian’s global standing.
A key accomplishment is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing. UIBE is highly distinguished, with its School of Business holding the prestigious “Triple Crown” accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA), an honour held by less than 1% of business schools worldwide.
This collaboration is set to yield immediate benefits for the Laurentian University community:
- Expanded Graduate Studies: The institutions held in-depth discussions on an MBA articulation agreement, designed to establish a clear pathway for qualified Chinese students to pursue graduate studies at Laurentian University. This strengthens the university's capacity to attract high-calibre MBA candidates, enriching the academic environment.
- Reciprocal Mobility: The agreements also explored the development of two-way student exchange programs and faculty exchanges and joint research initiatives, opening new doors for Laurentian students and faculty to engage in international scholarship and experience.
- Global Engagement: This strategic move strengthens Laurentian’s international presence and aligns directly with its vision for global engagement.
In addition to the UIBE agreement, the university delegation deepened relationships with key stakeholders, including the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). These discussions reinforced Laurentian’s commitment to attracting top-performing international students and building robust academic and research collaborations.
Laurentian University continues to prioritize international collaboration as a core strategic pillar, with these new partnerships building strong pathways for international learners and creating new opportunities for its community at home and abroad.
