Board of Governors elects new Vice-Chair, Roxanne Bouchard

Laurentian University’s Board of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of Roxanne Bouchard CIM, CFP, CPA, as Vice-Chair. Her term begins immediately and is scheduled to be completed in June 2026. This decision was unanimously approved by the Board at its meeting on October 17, 2025.

(October 30, 2025) - Laurentian University’s Board of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of Roxanne Bouchard CIM, CFP, CPA, as Vice-Chair. Her term begins immediately and is scheduled to be completed in June 2026. This decision was unanimously approved by the Board at its meeting on October 17, 2025.

"We have benefited from Roxanne’s leadership since January 2024 and we are fortunate to have her take on a larger role with the Board. Her financial expertise is an asset and she has been an exceptional member to date, with significant contributions at the committee level,” said ​​Jay Barbeau, Chair of the Laurentian University Board of Governors. “We are grateful to our outgoing Vice-Chair, Vern Cameron, who provided strong leadership to the Board for multiple years. We wish him well as he moves on to new endeavours,” added Barbeau. 

"I am honoured to step into the role of Vice-Chair. As a proud Franco-Ontarian and graduate of the Faculty of Management, I look forward to contributing to the University’s governance and to giving back to the community that was so influential to my development,” said Roxanne Bouchard.

Currently serving as Development Manager, ScotiaMcLeod, a division of Scotia Capital Inc., Bouchard has demonstrated success in leading integrated teams of advisors, bankers, investment counselors, and trust officers. She has a proven track record of achieving financial objectives, fostering collaboration, and adapting to regulatory changes in the industry.

A graduate of Laurentian University's Faculty of Management, Bouchard's extensive experience includes leadership roles at BMO and Scotiabank, where she consistently drove results, implemented change management strategies, and recruited top-performing teams. Bouchard's commitment to community involvement is evident through her roles as Treasurer for the Ottawa Gatineau Youth Foundation and Board Chair for Seasons Centre for Grieving Children.
