(September 1, 2026) — Vibrant energy is building across campus for Fall 2026 as Laurentian University prepares to welcome students with steady enrollment growth and an action-packed orientation schedule.

Students are looking forward to a diverse, high-energy slate of orientation activities hosted by the University, the Indigenous Sharing and Learning Centre, and student associations to mark the start of the academic year:

  • Move-In BBQ: Complimentary welcome BBQ at the Parker Building main entrance on September 5.
  • Cultural and Community Events: Welcome Sacred Fire (September 4), Tea and Bannock (September 11), and Anishinaabemowin Bingo (September 17).
  • Social Festivities: Residence Fest Concert (September 6), Outdoor Movie Night (September 10), Kivi Park Bonfire (September 10), Silent Disco (September 17), and Homecoming (September 18).
  • Inclusive Activities: Tailored equity workshops, including "Vos droits sur le campus" (September 14).
  • Sports: Campus Pep Rally (September 8), and Voyageurs Varsity Soccer home games (September 12).

Orientation is all about getting out there and being part of the Laurentian community,” said Danièl Langlois, Student Transitions Coordinator. “Meet people, try something new, explore campus, and have fun. This is the start of your Laurentian experience, so make the most of it. Don't just start the semester, be part of it.”
