Laurentian University and L. M. Thapar School of Management Sign an MoU to Advance International Collaboration

Laurentian University was pleased to host Dr. D. P. Goyal, Director and Dean of the L. M. Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India, for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

(November 7, 2025) - Laurentian University was pleased to host Dr. D. P. Goyal, Director and Dean of the L. M. Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India, for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

This signing ceremony marked the beginning of a strategic partnership designed to expand global learning opportunities for our students and advance in joint academic, research and training areas. The agreement outlines a roadmap for collaboration that includes:

  • MBA Pathway
  • Undergraduate Pathway
  • PhD Collaboration
  • Faculty Exchange
  • Joint Training Programs

“This partnership marks an exciting chapter not only for the Faculty of Management but for the entire Laurentian University community as we continue to expand our international engagement,” said Dr. Parvinder Arora, Dean of the Faculty of Management. “Collaborating with LM Thapar School of Management allows us to connect our students and faculty with new perspectives, research opportunities, and networks that enrich our learning community and strengthen our global presence.”

Dr. Goyal expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that LMTSM and Laurentian share a common vision for student-centred education and experiential learning.

The visit concluded with a signing ceremony hosted by the Provost and Vice President, Academic of LU, Dr. Malcolm M. Campbell and a discussion on implementation steps for the coming academic years, marking the start of a dynamic and beneficial partnership between the two institutions.
