- All international direct applicants will be charged a non-refundable application fee unless the Registrar waives it for a particular agency. Applicants through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) will be charged according to the OUAC fee schedule.
- The University will issue an Offer of Admission letter to each international applicant without collecting other fees.
- Upon receipt of the Offer of Admission letter, an applicant who wishes to pursue entrance to the University must provide a non-refundable deposit of CAD 2,000.00 within three weeks of the offer date. If the applicant fails to make this deposit, the University reserves the right to rescind the Offer of Admission. In that case, the applicant will lose their spot in the designated program and have to reapply.
- Should an applicant not successfully obtain their study permit, the University will refund the deposit minus an administrative processing charge of $383. Applicants must provide proof of their declined study permit to be eligible for a refund. The University reserves the right to contact IRCC to verify the status of a visa and/or study permit application and/or to verify the contents of a refusal letter. Complete the International Refund Request Form along with your supporting document and send it to fees@laurentian.ca. Refunds will be subject to a 12-week processing timeline.
- Deposits of CAD 32,281.95 (CAD 11,000 to China Office and CAD 21,281.95 to Laurentian) are non-refundable for students who have applied for the BMBA program unless they fail to obtain a study permit. They remain nonrefundable if the student changes programs. Charges and wait times are the same as in point 4.
- Deposits of CAD 20,000 are non-refundable for students who have applied for the Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP) unless they fail to obtain a student permit. Charges and wait times are the same as in point 4.
- Should an applicant, having received an Offer in Principle from ApplyBoard and paid a tuition deposit, subsequently receive a refusal from the University for reasons unrelated to a study permit denial, the University will refund the deposit. Applicants must provide official documentation from ApplyBoard or the University confirming the refusal to be eligible for a refund. Refunds will be subject to a 12-week processing timeline.
- Should you defer to another available intake, any fees paid will be transferred to the new intake; however, the deposit payment remains non-refundable if you do not provide proof of a visa refusal.
- For students who register and attend classes, the non-refundable deposit is applied toward their tuition fees, reducing the tuition they pay.
