What are the key changes to the Policy on Procurement? How will this affect university purchases?
The key changes to the Policy on Procurement are the following:
- Thresholds, definitions, roles and responsibilities.
- Procurement of Goods, Services and Construction
Please be advised that any procurement (goods, services, construction) with a total value exceeding CAD $10,000—whether as a single transaction or on a cumulative basis within a fiscal year requires the involvement of the Office of Procurement and Contracts.
Departments are requested to contact our office prior to initiating any such purchases at purchasing@laurentian.ca.
Please note that the following has not changed from the previous policy:
- Procurement of Consulting Services
Please be advised that any procurement for consulting services with a total value exceeding CAD $0 requires the involvement of the Office of Procurement and Contracts.
