When to move in
If you receive a spot in residence, you’ll be sent an email to your Laurentian email address with a link to sign up for a move-in appointment.
Move-in dates depend on when your classes begin. If your classes start in the:
- Fall (September), move-in typically falls on the weekend before classes start
- Winter (January), move-in falls on the first day the university is open in January
- Summer, move-in
For more information about what to expect during Move-In Weekend, log in to the myLaurentian Portal and download the Residence Move-In Guide.
Checking In To Residence
To check in during move-in weekend, simply go to one of the Residence Porter’s Desks.
If you are checking in after-hours or after move-in weekend, report to the UC Porter’s Desk, where a member of our team will be able to sign you into residence.
Note: Make sure to bring a piece of photo ID as you will be required to show it.
Get your OneCard
Once you check in to Residence, your OneCard will grant you access to your residence building, allowing you to use the laundry machines, vending machines, residence services, and your meal plan.
To save time at check-in, log in to the Self-Service Portal and upload your picture in advance. This will ensure that your card is ready for you to pick up at the check-in desk.
