Manager of Digital Strategy

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Communications & Digital Strategy, the Manager of Digital Strategy will manage the University’s website and social media properties. 

The Manager of Digital Strategy will: be responsible for the continual development of the University’s web and social media strategies; ensure an evolving online presence through digital properties; foster online engagement of prospective students, current students and alumni; be responsive to changes in technology, online strategy and stakeholder needs; direct the strategy of social media initiatives through multiple channels. 

The successful candidate will ensure the website is a powerful recruitment tool, an accurate and user-friendly information source, and an engaging destination for visitors. The candidate will work with stakeholders across multiple departments to enhance the institution’s digital IQ through training and strategic support. 

With strategic direction, the Manager will perform the following duties:

  • Ensure the website is a reflection of the University’s identity
  • Work collaboratively with IT, Marketing and academic departments to ensure consistent information
  • Manage the University’s online presence through engaging in social media channels
  • Ensure support for, and the evolution of, the Laurentian.ca website as an strategic tool
  • Enhance the University promotional efforts through online advertising campaigns
  • Make use of analytics to enhance business decisions and reporting to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing online properties in an organizational setting
  • Postsecondary education in a related field
  • Knowledge of the University community and university life
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects under deadlines
  • Knowledge of web compliance requirements under Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Experience in producing promotional material in audio, video and web formats 
  • Ability to work and manage content development in both official languages, French and English

When the Policy and Program on COVID-19 Vaccination are paused, persons entering Laurentian’s campus will no longer be required to provide proof of vaccination in order to attend campus.
