Federal and Provincial Immigration Programs
Should our international graduates want to stay in Canada after their studies, they could be eligible to the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program but also to the Federal Northern Immigration Pilot City. This community-driven program is designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers.
Besides, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is the province’s economic immigration program. It works in partnership with the Government of Canada through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Foreign workers, international students and others with the right skills, experience and education apply to the OINP for a nomination. As a Laurentian graduate student, you may qualify for such a nomination.

Located in the heart of Ontario (Sudbury, Canada) on 750 acres of woodlands, Laurentian University offers more than 175 programs of study from the bachelor’s to Ph.D. levels. Built on the history of Collège du Sacré-Cœur dating back to 1913, the Laurentian University Federation (including Huntington University, Thorneloe University and the University of Sudbury) welcomes close to 9,000 students each year on its bilingual and welcoming campus with an inclusive and multicultural community.
