The Shoah

The course examines the impact of the trauma of the genocide of the Holocaust on Judaism in terms of its religious, philosophical, literary and artistic self-representation. Special emphasis is be placed on exploring the role of memory and on the act of remembering in Jewish and non-Jewish responses to radical evil and suffering. PREREQ: 18 university credits.
