Theoretical Classical Physics

This course treats in depth the mathematical methods required to solve various problems in physics and engineering involving scalar fields. The method of separation of variables is used to solve Laplace's equation, the diffusion equation and the wave equation in various coordinate systems. The Fourier integral theorem is also treated. The course aims to familiarize students with the mathematical methods utilized in senior undergraduate and graduate courses in electromagnetic theory, optics, and quantum mechanics.
