The Invention of the Italian Renaissance And Baroque

This course investigates the transdisciplinary nature of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque. The communicative domains of literature, politics, philosophy, art, music and science combine to create definitive visions of these two ages. The course explores figures such as Bembo, Machiavelli, Guicciardini, Bruno, Sarpi, Galileo and Marino. Students may not retain credit for Ital 4247 and Ital 4226 NL. PREREQ: ITAL 2005, (lec 3) cr 3.
