Advanced Financial Management

This course is based on the concepts studied in COMM 5206 and 5207. It is designed to deepen the understanding of financial management through the use of case materials and readings which provide students with an opportunity to test their understanding of basic concepts in new and more complex situations. Subject coverage includes working capital management, the capital budgeting process, leverage and the cost of capital, dividend policy, lease financing, business valuation and mergers and acquisitions. The primary emphasis throughout will be on the development of an integrated framework for relating investment and financing decisions in a manner consistent with corporate objectives. Prerequisite: COMM 5207.
