Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Business Manager, Faculty of Education and Health, the Clinical Placement Coordinator works collaboratively with the School of Nursing staff and faculty to accomplish the overall goal of identifying, securing and maintaining clinical placements.  

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify potential clinical placement sites in consultation with faculty and program coordinators;
  • Secure clinical placement sites recommended by faculty and program coordinators;
  • Ensure contracts with clinical placement sites are current and initiate renewal as required; 
  • Validate or decline student documentation submission;
  • Submit all required documentation to clinical agencies;
  • Document nursing student’s incident reports and refer to Health and Wellness Services and Human Resources as required;
  • Create and provide charts of clinical placements to faculty, program coordinators;
  • Track graduate student progress (admissions, courses, withdrawals, inactive…);
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four year post secondary degree in a health related field, Nursing degree an asset; 
  • Three to five years of related experience;
  • Knowledge of both community and hospital placement opportunities for PHCNP and BScN programs;
  • Ability to validate immunization, lab reports as well as other required documentation.  
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Data Management Systems
  • Ability to work fluently, orally and in writing, in both official languages, French and English.
  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Datatel, Web Advisor, Gmail, Google Drive, Adobe,  ability to maintain and update School webpage).
  • Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.

 

Hours of work are based on the normal operating hours of the University and are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Summer hours) and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Winter hours), amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
