Responsibilities

Working as part of the CTCL team within the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance, the Institutional Quality Assurance (QA) Officer will be the curriculum mapping resource person for programs and individuals engaged in quality assurance processes. This position is also responsible for supporting the tracking of the various components of the IQAP/Accreditation process for academic units, keeping the Academic Accountability website current and supporting the creation of the annual reports to the Quality Council. In addition, this position will create and maintain a centralized repository of both program and course level learning outcomes for both undergraduate and graduate programs at Laurentian University.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Assist faculty in developing/updating curriculum and curriculum mapping 

  • Provide individual support to academic units and faculty members with the IQAP and Accreditation process;
  • Assist department chairs with curriculum mapping for IQAP and Accreditation review purposes;
  • Support faculty in the creation of learning outcomes for courses and programs undergoing CELP, CPF and ACAPLAN approval; and
  • Develop and update curriculum mapping templates as per IQAP and accreditation guidelines.

 Supporting the Monitoring and Reporting on Quality Assurance (QA) Activity      

  • Support the maintenance of records to ensure compliance with self-study submissions, periodic reports, final assessment reports & implementation plans and reporting requirements (internal to Laurentian and to the Quality Council); 
  • Ensure templates used by CELP, CPF and for the IQAP processes are reviewed and updated yearly;
  • Ensure the Academic Accountability (Quality Assurance) webpage on the Laurentian University website is kept current and up-to-date with information, templates and reports; 
  • Create and maintain a central repository of program and course level outcomes for both undergraduate and graduate programs at Laurentian University; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in related field (Master’s preferred);
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience;
  • Sound knowledge of curriculum development at a post-secondary level;
  • Sound knowledge of IQAP and Accreditation processes;
  • In-depth knowledge of course and program approval process at CELP, CPF and ACAPLAN; 
  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility issues and the AODA legislation;
  • Ability to works as part of a team and contribute knowledge and experience in a respectful manner;
  • Excellent presentation skills and a keen interest in sharing knowledge through workshops;
  • Excellent record-keeping and data tracking skills;
  • Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
