Domestic Recruitment Enrollment Clerk, Department of Domestic Recruitment

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Domestic Recruitment  the Domestic Enrollment Clerk will be a home-base recruiter, responsible for  on-campus recruitment (programs, academic guidance, services, processes, etc.) and will work with all prospective applicants and prospective students.The Domestic Enrollment Clerk will also support the Recruitment Coordinators, and assist  the Office of Admissions in follow-ups and day-to-day work to ensure completed applications are submitted for review. 

  • Communicate information about Laurentian University’s program offerings, admissions processes, and related services to prospective students and agents through phone calls and emails;
  • Maintain ongoing records of interaction between inquirers and Laurentian University;
  • Assist Admissions Clerks and Admissions Officers with data management;
  • Arrange and conduct in-person meetings or online meetings with prospective applicants and prospective students or their agents;
  • Assist the Recruitment Coordinator in following up on leads gathered from the fairs and digital marketing campaign;
  • Provide guidance for prospective applicants and prospective students on appropriate courses of action for unique process-related requests;
  • Provide guidance for prospective applicants and prospective students or their agents on appropriate timelines and processes for related prospective services, appropriate to their individual needs;
  • Assist Faculty members and other Laurentian University personnel with inquiries on specific applicants;
  • Update records in an ongoing manner using applicant data, to keep prospective students moving towards enrollment in a timely fashion;
  • Assist in the evaluation and identification of fraudulent documentation;
  • Conduct and organize Laurentian-related presentations for special events requested by Faculty request and/or Manager;
  • Present process and program-related content to visitors at scheduled events;
  • Maintain, or committed to creating, an equitable diverse and inclusive working environment; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Education or Business Administration or in a related field preferably at Laurentian University;
  • One (1) to three (3) years or related experience; 
  • Strong database management skills;
  • Excellent time-management abilities;
  • Outstanding  communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, preferred;
  • Experience with Colleague Student Information System and SugarCRM;
  • Training and experience in public speaking and presentation;
  • Familiarity with Laurentian University, preferred;
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including students, staff, and community partners;
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, especially in dynamic or high-pressure scenarios; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.


The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
