Responsibilities

Working as part of the CTCL team and in close collaboration with the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Quality Assurance (QA) coordinator will be the resource person for programs and individuals engaged in quality assurance processes. This position is also responsible for tracking the various components of the IQAP/Accreditation process for academic units, keeping the Academic Accountability website current and supporting the creation of the annual reports to the Quality Council. In addition, this position will support faculty with all aspects of curriculum mapping.

  • Provide support in the form of orientations, workshops, individual consultations, etc. to academic units and faculty members regarding the IQAP , in particular as they relate to learning and program level outcomes;
  • Assist department chairs, program directors and coordinators with curriculum mapping for IQAP review purposes;
  • Coordinate annual orientation for programs undergoing cyclical program review and/or accreditation in early fall; 
  • Coordinate workshops and individual consultations regarding course and program level learning outcomes and curriculum mapping as they related to quality assurance processes;
  • Provide support in the form of individual consultations, etc. to academic units and faculty members regarding accreditation processes in particular as they relate to learning and program level outcomes;
  • Assist school directors, program directors and coordinators with curriculum mapping for accreditation review purposes;
  • Maintain records to ensure compliance with self-study submissions, periodic reports, final assessment reports & implementation plans and reporting requirements (internal to Laurentian and to the Quality Council;
  • Ensure templates used by CELP, CPF and for the IQAP processes are reviewed and updated yearly;
  • Ensure the Academic Accountability (Quality Assurance) webpage on the Laurentian University website is kept current and up-to-date with information, templates and reports;
  • Act as the Quality Assurance Key Contact to the Quality Council;
  • Attend regular meetings and the annual learning Outcomes symposium of the Quality Council on behalf of the university and implement any changes in process(es) identified by the Quality Council;
  • Provide support to the Provost’s office in the preparation of annual reports to Quality Council, planning visits and audits by the Quality Council; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on curriculum Design;
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with IQAP or related field;
  • Excellent knowledge of curriculum development at a postsecondary level;
  • Excellent knowledge of IQAP and Accreditation processes;
  • Excellent knowledge of course and program approval process at CELP, CPF and ACAPLAN;
  • Excellent knowledge of Council of Ontario Universities Quality Assurance Framework and reporting requirements;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute knowledge and experience in a respectful manner;
  • Excellent written and verbal fluency in English and French;
  • Excellent presentation skills and a keen interest in sharing knowledge through workshops;
  • Excellent record-keeping and data tracking skills;
  • Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines; and
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
