Biography

Prof. Rana Haq is Assistant Professor at Laurentian University's School of Commerce and Administration in the Faculty of Management. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour (OB/HRM) stream both on campus and online. She is a founding co-author on the LU-CGA online OB/HR courses for the undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Commerce (HBCom) and the graduate Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. Her research interests are in the field of organizational behaviour and human resource management, managing diversity, equality and inclusion in the workplace; international comparative human resource management, cross-cultural communications, gender and marginalized groups in entrepreneurship. She has several peer-reviewed conference presentations, cases, book chapters and journal papers published on these topics. In particular, she has published research on employment equity and diversity management in the Canadian and Indian contexts. She is a Director on two multi-year Entrepreneurship oriented projects in partnerships with universities in Canada, US and Mexico, Alliance to Enhance Entrepreneurial Impact to Stimulate Economic Growth Among Underserved Groups in North America and Profiles in Entrepreneurship: North American Models of Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (PENAMICE) under the “North American Mobility in Higher Education' programs funded by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), US Department of Education Funds for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE), and the Mexican Secretary of Public Education (SEP). She is a member of the Laurentian University Management Development Center (LUMDC) Executive Committee and also for the new Professions North/Nord (PNN) program designed for Internationally Trained Immigrants (ITI) in the Accounting Professions under a $3.2 Million grant over three years (2010-2012) from the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) in partnership with Ryerson University and five Northern Ontario communities: Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins & Thunder Bay.
