Vernon Cameron, Board Chair

Vernon has a Canadian Chartered Accountants Designation, Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Laurentian University, and an Executive MBA from Katz School of Business at University of Pittsburgh. For Vernon, Laurentian University is a constant through his family, with his father, son, and daughter all having graduated from Laurentian.

Having leveraged his education, Vernon found success as an accomplished executive. He has spent the last 19 years in the U.S. in the public and private sectors, including 12 years leading Private Equity companies in President and Chief Executive Officer roles.

Since joining the Board in April of 2022, Vernon has served on multiple Board committees including: Executive Committee, Audit Committee, Finance Committee, Property Development and Planning Committee, Staff Relations Committee, and the Pension Committee. Vernon was then elected Chair of the Board of Governors, effective July 1st, 2023. His extensive leadership experience and commitment to higher education make him an exceptional choice to lead the Board during this transformative period.
