Laurentian University offers Grade 12 students the opportunity to take a course, while earning a credit towards his or hers OSSD (IDC 4U) and university credits.
In order to be eligible, the student must:
- have an average of 75% or more for his or her Grade 11 courses;
- be in the pre-university stream;
- receive written support from the guidance councellor or principal of the school;
- be able to work independently;
- be able to travel to the Laurentian University campus.
The courses* available are the following:

2018-2019: Courses offered
3 credits
Available from September to December 2018.
Monday and Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., in person (Laurentian University campus).
This course is an introduction to the relationships between societies and the natural environment. It presents natural environments and environments modified by human activities as a dynamic system integrating the hydrosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. In particular, it addresses issues and challenges related to water, climate and "natural" disasters. Lectures and practical work including field work.
