Dear Laurentian University community,
We are writing to share an update on the assessment of the Jeno Tihanyi Pool. As stated in our last announcement, the Board of Governors of Laurentian University passed a motion to initiate discussions with the City of Greater Sudbury for the creation of a joint planning committee on facility renewal.
This is a key step in creating the framework for a sustainable funding model which would support the necessary investments and operations of the pool. The University and the City have meetings beginning this week to discuss the terms and membership of the committee. The university will provide a further update to share the results of these discussions.
