Dear Laurentian University community,
We are writing to share an update on the assessment of the Jeno Tihanyi Pool. Our Facilities Department has continued working diligently with our consultant, JL Richards, as well as specialist firms to further understand the investment required to reopen the pool.
As detailed in our last update, we requested the consultant provide a Repair Operations Report, which will detail the repair options. We expect to receive the final version of this Report in the coming days. In January of 2024, we will work with the consultant to evaluate the implications of all options. The Report will be analyzed and discussed at multiple levels of leadership, including the Board of Governors, before a decision is made.
We appreciate your understanding and patience through this process. We will make every effort to provide another update by February 28, 2024.
