(April 24, 2023) - Laurentian University’s Board of Governors has added another experienced executive as James Gallagher has been appointed to serve for a three year term, beginning this month.
“As a long-time business leader in the mining industry, James is very well respected and understands the potential for Laurentian to support industry partners. His experiences will help the Board strengthen the depth of financial and business acumen while also providing strong leadership,” said Jeff Bangs, Chair of the Laurentian University Board of Governors. “This announcement continues our Board’s membership renewal process and we expect to have similar announcements in the months ahead.”
About James (Jim) Gallagher
Gallagher is a Professional Mining Engineer with over 35 years of experience in mine operations, projects and executive management. He currently serves as Executive Chair of Clean Air Metals and was previously CEO of North American Palladium. Gallagher was also Global Director of Mining for Hatch, leading a large mine design and project execution team. He spent over 20 years with Falconbridge in a number of engineering, project and operational management roles. Gallagher has been a board member of Harte Gold, Continental Gold and the Ontario Mining association. He is a graduate of Laurentian University’s Mining Engineering program as well as Queen’s University’s International Program in Mining Leadership.
