Valérie Raymond

Biography

A Franco-Ontarian linguist from Sudbury, Dr. Valérie Raymond has been teaching French language, linguistics, grammar and writing, francophone culture and French as a Second Language courses at Laurentian University since 2012. She is interested in variationist linguistics, sociolinguistics, language contact, bilingualism in minority francophone settings in Ontario and language security. She devotes her time to various associations and boards of directors, such as Acfas-Nouvel-Ontario, the Association des boursiers et des boursières Ricard and the Board of directors of the Touche-à-tout Daycares, and actively participates in projects aiming to promote and highlight French language diversity in Ontario and Canada.
