Gifts from Laurentian University Students to a Chinese Family

On Sunday, May 7, 2017, Laurentian University students participated in the 20th International Workshop in China gave a local family a hockey equipment set.
The hockey equipment consisting of 9 hockey sticks, 2 balls, and 2 nets were used during the Canadian social evening that the Canadian team prepared on on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the 20th International Workshop. The International Workshop is a business simulation competition and cultural exchange experience with 8 countries including Canada; the other participating countries were Belgium, Switzerland, China, Indonesia, Netherlands and Russia. |
Laurentian University's Management and Engineering Students win Goodman Gold Challenge Case Competition
Two interdisciplinary teams of management and engineering students from Laurentian University competed in the first annual Goodman Gold Challenge case competition which was held in Sudbury, Ontario, from February 22 – 25, 2017.
Rising to the top of six very competitive teams, the team of Adam Tomlinson, Anthony Foreshew, Mitch Menard and Ryan Hunter won the gold medal by recommending Detour Gold for investment following their valuation and analysis of three gold mining companies. Congratulations, Team LU FoM
The Goodman Gold Challenge, a unique investment mining management competition, required the valuation and analysis of the investment potential of three gold companies currently trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) or TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V). The three Case Companies evaluated in 2017 were Detour Gold, Dundee Precious Metals Inc. and Osisko Mining.
