Building Case Studies

This course furthers each student's ability to conduct a sustained study of a complex work of architecture through select building case studies. Well designed and well documented buildings are studied in parallel to the Integrated Design studio in order to deepen each student's analytical abilities. Buildings are drawn, modelled, dissected, and recombined in a manner that allows us to understand and appreciate the complexity of a given design. Contemporary building culture in Canada as well as iconic buildings from around the world are the subject of study. PREREQ. ARCH 3006 (lec, sem), cr 3 (in Culture stream).
